George Russell will be hoping to become the first driver to win back-to-back Las Vegas Grand Prix events since the race was inaugurated in 2023.

The Mercedes driver missed out on a podium spot at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on 9 November, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Russell started on the sixth grid and passed several cars, which saw him secure the fourth spot, while also finishing third in the sprint event and he left Brazil with 18 points.
Formula One title ambitions
The Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) director remains fourth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 276 points.
Russell is now 65 points behind third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and 62 points clear of fifth-placed Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.

Russell, who won this season's Canadian and Singapore Grand Prix events, has what it takes to win this season's race and boost his World Drivers' Championship top-three ambitions.
What did he say?
"I was having to manage my brake temperatures at the end and that made it more difficult to fight (Max) Verstappen for P3. Realistically, though, I’m not sure we had the pace today to get on the podium," Russell said after the 2025 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
"Our goal for the end of the season is clear: beat Red Bull and Ferrari to P2 come Abu Dhabi. This weekend has put us back in the driving seat in the battle and hopefully we can build on that in the year-ending triple-header.
"Kimi (Antonelli) did a great job to get P2 too. He’s been super quick all weekend and that’s great to see. We will be working as pair to score as many points as possible and hopefully come out on top by the time we reach the chequered flag at Yas Marina."
